陶耀宇,北京大学人工智能研究院/集成电路学院研究员,国家高层次青年人才(海外),主要从事基于后摩尔新器件的集成电路设计。科学研究方面,针对未来AI硬件发展趋势,在基于后摩尔新器件的算子电路与芯片架构这两层次取得多项技术突破,发表论文43篇(其中一作10篇、通讯11篇,含共一/共通讯):(1)在后摩尔新器件算子电路上,基于新型阻变器件等设计了多款高性能算子电路(包括傅里叶变换、频率转换、排序等典型算子),以一作或通讯作者发表Nature Electronics 2篇、Nature Communications 2篇,以及芯片顶级期刊/会议IEEE IEDM、MICRO等6篇;(2)在后摩尔新器件芯片架构上,设计了多款针对通算一体算法的芯片架构(包括神经微分方程、4G低密度奇偶校验算法、5G极化算法等),以一作或通讯作者发表集成电路顶级期刊/会议IEEE JSSC、VLSI、HPCA等4篇,以及电路系统架构顶级期刊/会议IEEE TCAS-I、FPGA等7篇。奖励荣誉方面,获北京大学博雅青年学者、华为未名青年学者、北京智源人工智能青年科学家等,曾获高通技术明星奖3次、华为计算产品线最佳技术合作奖、通信两大顶会IEEE Globecom最佳论文奖(2/300+)、芯片顶会最佳论文奖提名2次(IEEE VLSI、ISCAS);成果入选2025中国半导体十大进展候选,获人民网、新华网、Yahoo等亮点报道;申请/获批发明专利18项,在华为、高通、德州仪器等落地应用,相关芯片量产超亿颗。科研项目方面,主持国家级高层次青年人才项目(海外)、国自然基金委面上项目、国自然基金委“后摩尔重大研究计划“重点项目(课题负责人)、科技部重点研发计划项目(课题负责人)、北京市自然基金委非共识项目、华为技术有限公司合作项目等,主持经费数千万余元。教育教学方面,在元培学院主讲2门芯片架构相关本科课程,曾在教评中位列元培学院40余门选修课第3名,入选北京大学数字精品教材工程。

Biography

Dr. Yaoyu Tao is currently a Boya assistant professor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Peking University. He obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Stanford University, and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor (supervised by Prof. Zhengya Zhang), respectively. Previously he also served as a staff engineer at Qualcomm Wireless R&D. His research interests focus on chip architecture and circuit design based on emerging post-Moore semiconductor devices.

He has published over 30 papers in top-tier journals and conferences (with 20+ as the first or corresponding author) in Nature Electronics, Nature Communications, MICRO/HPCA, JSSC/ISSCC/VLSI/IEDM, FPGA, among others. He receives Huawei Excellent Technical Cooperation Award in 2023, being selected as a Young Scholar at Beijing Zhiyuan in 2022, the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Global Communication Conference in 2021, Qualcomm QualStar Awards (2019–2021), the Rackham Research STG Award in 2018, and the Best Paper Nomination at the IEEE ISCAS 2013. He is also the primary inventor for over ten patents in China and the U.S. He serves as an editorial board member for Nature NPJ Unconventional Computing (2024), an editorial board member for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers (2019), and is a member of the IEEE Young Professionals in CAS and the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems Technical Committees (2019, 2020).
